The former is more desert adapted and has grav leaves that tend to be in the small side, and the latter brighter green leaves that tend to be slightly larger and sometimes more numerous than polifolium. But, you can find many places in Central CA where they grow side by side, especially along the coast range.<br /><br />Saw mormon metalmarks yesterday as well.
