lippia ~ 05/23/14 ~ Pinnacles

Verbenaceae

I really liked this flower and how it carpets the ground.  I would totally have this in my garden, if I had a garden.  It's native to CA and beyond, all along the lower half of the U.S.  It also has an incredibly fun (yet hard to say really fast) common name of turkey tangle fogfruit.  Seriously, I didn't make that up.

Never known this one's name ( either of them) and it would be great in a garden. I may have to see to that...common lippia aka .turkey tangle fogfruit, turkey tangle fogfruit... There I might remember it now.

Be careful, I'm pretty sure if you say Turkeytangle Frogfruit fast three times, you'll wind up with a gremlin infestation in your house, or something...

Ha! It is a great name! The tongue twister is probably why frog is ever mentioned. This area of Pinnacles tends to get a little bit of marine moisture.
