Wanted to show venus thistle in its non-prime bloom stage, especially in comparison to the another variety cobweb thistle, which I recently posted for June 2, 2011.

This is my favorite thistle for it's scarlet color and tall stalk that makes it stand out against the dry, west facing slopes at Pinnacles.
